Today's anniversary inspires today's trivia tidbit. President's throwing out the first pitch at a baseball game is a tradition nearly as old as the game itself. But only one sitting President ever threw out a first pitch to a game twice in one season. That of course would be President John F. Kennedy, who threw out the first pitch for the Washington Senators in 1962 and would later throw out the first pitch at the All-Star game later that year, which was also in D.C. JFK was a sports and fitness fan, going so far as to establish the "White House Committee on Health and Fitness" that included several pro athletes of the day.
