The Lakers, in the middle of what has already been an historically awful season, announced that Kobe Bryant will not return this year. Bryant has not appeared in a game since fracturing a bone in his knee on December 17th and only played in six games this season. Keep in mind that the Lakers signed Bryant to a new 2 year/$48.5 million contract back in November and that looks like it will pay dividends.
